Executive Meeting 26 May 2024
Virtual 1600 hrs. (Atl)– Manly Sitter, Fran Adams, John Singleton and Larry Pelletier. Special guest Paul Cyr. Regrets – Tim Clinton
Minutes – Motion to approve April minutes made by John Singleton 2nd by Manly Sitter. Carried
Financial Report – Balance $4,845.78 with one membership transfer pending.
Elections – There were no nominations from membership. Will repost in the fall and the executive at the activities will seek interested people.
June/July Activities
Ottawa – Museum and restaurant your and meet / greet. Paul brought us up to date including the Veterans Benefits of the Canadian War Museum. Including free parking and admission. Information about the Lanark items was previously circulated and a link is on the WEB page. Date of event 22 June 24. Our appreciation to Paul in helping out in this endeavor. Motion – The association to make a contribution to the Canadian War Museum for $150.00 by Larry Pelletier 2nd by Fran Adams. Carried.
Central – Tim has been busy and as been unable to put the BBQ together. Our condolences for him and hos family on the recent passing of his Mother. He will look at something later or it may be postponed until next year.
Pembroke – Ursula has booked the room at the Clarion Hotel for dinner. Also, if someone wants to stay overnight, they will give a rate for us. Meal will be from the menu. Discussed subsidizing meals for paid membership. Our appreciation to Ursula for helping in this. Motion – That the association pay $25.00 towards paid members (individuals) of the association for the dinner on 5 July 2024 by Fran Adams 2nd by John Singleton. Carried. Will need a list prior to so we can issue a cheque to the restaurant.
Western – Manly to look at something in Calgary or Edmonton later.
Membership – Manly advised there are some renewals outstanding. Cards are in the process and will be brought out in June.
Kit Shop – We are reviewing past minutes on the kit shop. Also, we have 250 pins (Artillery) that we thought the regiment would purchase/use. It was agreed to give 1/3 each to the two army cadet corps and the regiment has donations. Three orders of late.
Breakfast – The Pembroke breakfasts will resume in the fall. Details will out in the fall. Attendance by same 6 people and it will be looked for timing of the activity.
Web Page – Recent notices posted. After the early summer activities, organizers should forward a report and some pictures to John . Appreciation to John in keeping the page up to date.
